The Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA), Jharkhand is the nodal agency under the Urban Development and Housing Department responsible for overseeing and strengthening urban local bodies (ULBs) across the state. Its primary role is to ensure effective urban governance, transparency, and sustainable development in municipal areas. The DMA provides policy guidance, administrative support, and capacity building to municipalities, focusing on areas such as solid waste management, urban infrastructure, sanitation, property tax reforms, and e-governance.
